Have you ever had your nervous system checked?

You routinely get your blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, and weight checked.
You even get your teeth checked regularly, and your hair maintained.
But have you ever had your nervous system checked?

A majority of people would say "no" to that question.
We are here to explain why this is CRITICAL for your overall health, and how we do this in our office!

The master controller of the human body, your nervous system, should be working at 100%- so let's get it checked.

Thermal

Thermal

Thermal Scanning: A thermal scan is completed to check for temperature variation along the spine. This is important because the same system that controls your ability to regulate temperature- the autonomic nervous system- also controls the automatic function of your organs, glands, and vessels. This scan is able to assess where stress is building up and how it affects these internal structures.

EMG

EMG

Surface EMG: We use surface EMG to to assess the amount of energy utilized by your muscles via the nerves running through them. This is important because your muscles are what allow you to maintain posture. Too much or too little energy can result in challenges. Are you requiring every bit of energy to sit upright? Is your nervous system so stressed out that forward flexed posture is resulting like an animal in hiding? These are things we want to check and can affect your health!

Heart Rate Variability

Heart Rate Variability

Heart Rate Variability: Heart rate variability is a major tool utilized in research right now. This assessment is all about ADAPTABILITY. How well are you able to adapt to the environment around you? Are you stuck in "fight or flight" mode due to chronic stress? With heart rate variability, we are able to check how well your sympathetic ("fight or flight") and parasympathetic ("rest and digest") nervous systems are balanced. Balance is key.

Together these 3 assessment tools formulate a comprehensive COREscore. This score rates the overall stress on your nervous system in the form of a number ranging between 0-100. We want to see your COREscore be as close to 100 as possible! In our office, we complete these assessments every 12 visits to track change and progress. As you can see in the pictures to the left, we love to see positive changes through chiropractic! It is also important to note that each assessment is safe for all ages, including during pregnancy and for infants.

What if I am already healthy?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Therefore, health is measured by how well the body is FUNCTIONING not by how we feel. If you are feeling great, and taking care of your body, then we are definitely happy for you! However we would still love the opportunity to perform the above assessments to ensure that your nervous system if functioning optimally. After all, symptoms don't always pop up over night. It can take a while before your body expresses dis-ease in the form of symptoms.

When it comes to your family's health- we don’t guess, we test!
